Adam Reese was supposed to be home at four. He was carrying a duffel bag that did not belong to him and a plan to take his wife and daughter north into Canada before Monday morning. He never made it. Instead, Adam wakes on a quiet cul-de-sac at the end of Buchanan Drive—in a town that appears on no map, in a world that takes something from him every Friday and never gives it back. The neighbours call the place Aevum. The Caller summons them each week to a deadly game in the field. Some Fridays, the people who walk in alone die alone.
